BASIC RULES
I. No...
Stardust Acadamy does not tolerate any form of the following;
- Powerplaying - controlling somebody else's character
- Godmoding - making your celeb god-like
- Spamming - pointless messaging
- Swearing - if you must swear use asterisks (*)
If you continuously disobey these rules it will result in a ban.
II. Friendliness
On SA it is important to us [myself and Feather] that everyone treats each other well. As the old saying goes; treat others how you'd like to be treated. If you dislike someone keep it to yourself and at least make an effort to be friendly. Also don't just stay friends with people you know from another forum and leave the new people out. SA is for everyone to enjoy together!
III. Appropriate Language
As already mentioned, SA hates swearing. It isn't pretty and really has no use at all. If you feel you have to, or your cat has to swear I ask that you always use astericks (***). Appropriate language also means no talk about religion, politics or something that may cause offense to somebody. Remember, we don't all believe in the same things!
POSTING RULES
I. Post Standards
Here on SA, we are a literate to advanced site so we ask that your posts be of a good standard. Thus, your posts must be over 100 words to be considered literate but more is greatly apprieciated. If you feel that if you tried hard you could reach the 100 word mark ask another member to give you a few pointers. We also ask that you use good grammar and punctuation. Fragmented sentences are a huge no-no here, as are sentences with no punctuation points. Overall try to make your roleplaying posts good quality. It is hard to reply to a short post with a long one.
II. Font, Size & Colours
In your roleplaying posts you must use the original font - Times New Roman - in the actual post part but if you want to have a header or lyrics any font is allowed as long as we can read it. Now, onto size. In your roleplaying posts it would be best if you used 'sup' codes or size 1. Sup codes make your posts look like this: This is text using 'sup'. Size 1 looks like this: This is text using 'size 1'.
Now, moving onto colours. You may use any colour you want for the text colour but there is one condition. When your person speaks or has thoughts please use a different colour. If you want you could use different colours for both thoughts and speech. Example: Speech is blue and Thoughts are white. Sorry for such a long rule!
III. Spell Check
Proboards comes with an inbuilt spell checker so use it! I, for one, hate spelling mistakes and they can so easily be corrected. It will only take a few minutes and everyone will thank you for it. Would you like to read through a post like this?:
occen walkd over too tha duur.
Didn't think so! So please just use spell checker and save everyone a lot of trouble.
PROFILE RULES
I. Siggie & Avatars
You may have either your avatar or siggie picture unrelated to one of your celebs. However, either one of them or both [if you want] has to relate to one of your characters. Lyrics and quotes can go in your signature if that is your wish.
II. Age
As you all know, Proboards is for people aged 13 or older. However, if you have permission you can join if your younger than 13. Try and put your real age. Please don't put a weird age like 76 if your not 76. That's just stupid, to be honest with you.
III. Personal Text
If you want personal text you are free to have it. However make sure it is appropiate for SA.
C-BOX RULES
I. Display Name
Your display name must be like your username on here or a nickname people know you by. Nothing unappropiate, please.
II. Avatars
Yes, we can now have avatars on the c-box! If you want an avatar this is what you do:
1. Go to the email/url box.
2. Put in the URL to your avatar. Put it like this i30.tinypic.com/e67hu1.png. Make sure you leave out the tags on it.
3. Put in your name and message then post. Voila! You should now have a little avatar beside your name.
Thank you for reading the rules!
